Resignation of Town Councillor William Lindars

William Lindars Resigns William Lindars was born in Tetsworth and was the hotel keeper and victualler of the "Crown & Thistle Tap" on Bridge St in Abingdon for about 30 years, which he ran with his brother Richard.   Even though his failing health forced him to withdraw from town politics, he lived another 8 years after resigning.      William Lindars died on 19th April 1872 at the age of 80 in Abingdon.

This poster is on record at the Berkshire County Record Office and was copied in 1997.
